Star-and-moon bodhi is hard and evenly speckled, like stars around a moon; with handling it turns from pale to a rosy glow — the classic first choice. Rudraksha is fleshy with fierce ridges, most handsome when worked to a jujube-red shine.
Phoenix-eye bodhi is loved for its "eye" on every bead, rich in Tibetan flavour. Each type has its own routine, but all follow the same rule: less sweat, frequent brushing, slow nurture.
Handling bodhi is a practice of patience. Haste only stains and mottles the beads; let nature take its course and the warmth will come.
